Leapmotor has announced the B03, a small electric hatchback due to go on sale in the UK from early 2027. The company has published detailed specifications, although UK pricing has not yet been announced.
The announced figures
Leapmotor says the B03 has a 53kWh battery and a WLTP range of up to 242 miles. It claims that DC rapid charging can take the battery from 10% to 80% in 21 minutes when suitable charging conditions and equipment are available. Those are manufacturer and laboratory figures; real-world range and charging times vary with temperature, speed, charger output and battery conditions.
The B03 is 4,175mm long, according to Leapmotor, and has a 405-litre boot with the rear seats upright. The company says the UK range will have a single trim level with equipment including a heat pump, heated front seats and a 360-degree parking camera.
What UK buyers should wait for
The headline missing figure is the UK on-the-road price. Finance rates, insurance groups and independent road tests will also matter when comparing it with small electric rivals. A useful range comparison needs the same driving conditions and a realistic charging routine, not just two brochure numbers.
If you are planning to buy used rather than new, this announcement will not put B03s on the second-hand market immediately. Once cars reach showrooms, check the final UK specification and warranty terms before making a decision.
